Taking the step to reach out for support can be overwhelming, but by visiting my page or those of other therapists, you have made a courageous step. Life can present us with many challenges and at times, sharing these with a therapist, who is trained to support you in a way that family and friends cannot, can be empowering. I know what it is like to feel completely overwhelmed and for life to feel out of control, unsure of where you can turn.
Sharing your thoughts, feelings and experiences in a space that is confidential, safe , non-judgmental and supportive can help you get a better perspective on you and your situation.
I am not here to advise you, but to support you in understanding what is happening for you and why. I will be at your side whilst you learn who you are, why you are and who you want to be.
When I first sought out my own counselling I thought that I would attend the sessions and the counsellor would do something and 'fix me'. I now know that counselling is much more than that, it is a therapeutic partnership, but one that the client is in control of. It can be challenging, scary, hard work as the client. There can be sessions where all emotions will spill from you, and that's ok. In my therapy journey I have laughed, cried, became angry, resentful. But, I have changed, I have grown and I have healed with the help and support of another human being, who cared. You can get to that point to if you want to and I am more than happy to be alongside you whilst you take those steps.
